It’s summer in Mecklenburg: Alone in a red canoe, Kerstin paddles across the quiet expanse oft he the waters of the lake distric – a place of retreat to which she has a mysterious, almost intimate connection. She avoids any contact with other people until she meets Alima at a campsite and slowly begins to emerge from her isolation. It becomes obvious that the story is not only centred around Kerstin when characters from her past appear.
Set against the enchanted backdrop of the Mecklenburg Lake District, Max Gleschinski’s atmospheric feature film tells of searching and finding, of fleeing and drifting away and the tragedy of human relationships.
